ONE-TO-ONE
Somatic guidance for radical reconnection
“This again? Really?”
Lying in bed, awake to see yet another 3am, your brain runs through the same well worn loops. You know your patterns so well and you’re sick to death of them.
You watch yourself slip into people-pleasing, masking, perfectionism, freeze, numbness, overthinking, hypervigilance — smash-cutting from one protection mechanism to another, wondering where to find solid ground.
You’re so bored of numb, sick and exhausted being your normal. Every cell in your body is telling you that this isn’t sustainable. Thinking your way through life isn’t working.
It’s time to listen to your body.
Your body knows so much
Somatic guidance helps you remember that you are a body — not just some floating head — and that you’re intimately woven into a living world.
With breath, rest, and trauma-informed somatic practices as your guide, you’ll ease back into connection with the parts of you that have been relegated to the shadows. Gently coming into deeper relationship with yourself and forming a more generative relationships with the world around you.
This work is a slow drip return. A practice of knitting back together the schisms that have formed, both internal and external. Reconnecting the parts of your whole.
You’ll find new ways to navigate your nervous system, learn the unique language of your body, and develop a deeper capacity to meet whatever life throws your way without abandoning yourself.
This is radical work
Reconnecting to your body isn’t just fluffy self-care. This is the practice of unlearning all the ways that colonial late-stage capitalism has wheedled in and contorted your experience of life.
Somatic work is a reclamation of presence, rest, connection, and power in a world that profits from your disconnection and exhaustion.
It’s a recognition that there are ways of being that are more expansive and more feral than the constraints of modern Western culture. Ways that already exist within your soft (and wild) animal body.
This is how you begin to embody a different world. One founded in interconnectedness and liberation and unfurling in your own life. As above, so below. As within, so without.

This work might be a good fit if:
✹ You're tired of living life as a floating head. You’re exhausted by thinking your way through everything and you’re ready to find a more embodied approach
✹ Over doing and over-efforting are your baseline. You feel like you’re moving too fast and rest seems like an impossibility. You push through, over and over again – running on high until you collapse
✹ You’re stuck in chronic freeze, like a deer in the headlights. Overwhelm and anxiety are your closest companions, they keep you spinning in place and unable to move toward your desires
✹ You’re really good at shapeshifting. Whether it’s being the perfect rebel, the A+ student, or the ‘healed one’, you learn what’s expected of you and perform the role perfectly. Problem is that there’s never room for the messy truth of you to exist.
✹ There’s a niggling sense that some powerful, magical version of you is lurking just under the surface. You're curious about what might emerge if you create space to listen to that part
✹ You’re ready to expand your capacity to stay centred and hold your own, even in the middle of big life changes, chronic pain, anxiety or, you know, These Times™
✹ You're interested in both personal and collective liberation. You desire to step into your bigness, and to live a life of right relationship with body, spirit, community, earth, and lineage
✹ You fuck with mysticism. You’re open to the idea that the universe is vast, filled with wild possibilities, energy, and magic (and that maybe - just maybe - you are too)
✹ You understand that sustainable change takes time and you’re ready to commit to the process
Probably not your thing if:
✹ You want someone to give you a magic formula
✹ You don’t want any after-session work to do on your own
✹ You're looking for a quick fix. A good-vibes-only bandaid
✹ You're not ready to get curious about some big questions
✹ You need crisis support right now (that’s not my area of expertise but I know some great folks who can help)
What happens in a one-to-one session?
My work centres around curiosity, ease and choice as the cornerstones to change. An antidote to the urgency and force that we’re constantly steeped in.
Each session is an opportunity to meet whatever's present.
Sometimes that means we work with the breath, sometimes it's somatic practices like movement or rest, sometimes it’s energy work, sometimes it's conversation that gives you a new lens on your embodied experience.
Whatever the shape the session takes, it’s always a trauma-informed space. My role isn’t to ‘fix you’ or be some all knowing guru. Instead I help you meet yourself and expand your capacity to be with your experience.
✹
We start with an initial session. This 90-minute session enables you to get a feel for the work, and gives us a chance to see if we’re a good fit.
After that, sessions are 60 minutes, booked in weekly or fortnightly.
Generally, I suggest a minimum three-month commitment.
This gives the work time to root and flourish. Like any practice of unlearning and remembering, this work unfolds in spirals rather than straight lines. Having consistent support over time allows for deeper integration and more sustainable change.

The Investment
Ensuring that my work is accessible to folks in all financial situations is a deeply important part of my anti-capitalist business.
I offer these sessions on a sliding scale, between £60 - £120.
If you’re new to me, please read about the sliding scale so you understand where to locate yourself.
I also run a pay-it-forward fund. All contributions support my ability to offer accessible care for folks who need it.
If the lower end of the scale is still out of reach, I hold open spaces low-income spaces each month for BIPOC, queer, trans, sick and/or disabled folks. Drop me an email me to check on availability.

Wondering who I am?
Hey, I’m Elle. I’ve spent the last 20 years knee-deep in my own embodiment explorations, and the last 8 helping others to come back to their bodies with breathwork, rest, somatics, and folk magic.
Training and lived personal experience has made me particularly great at supporting people with:
Slowing the fuck down and unlearning urgency
Learning to belong to yourself and the living world
Expanding your capacity to feel your feelings and stay present in your life
Anti-capitalist embodiment and decolonising your relationship to power, ancestors and land (particularly as white-bodied people)
Trusting your creative expression and devoting to creative practice

Our bodies are the vessel through which we experience life. They carry the memory of all that we’ve lived through (and all that our ancestors lived through), both good and painful.
Soma is Ancient Greek for ‘the body’. It not only encompasses the physical flesh and bone, but also the energetic, emotional, and relational elements of our lived experience.
And so, within somatics we’re working with the body as a site for healing.
That means less ‘top down’ processing, as one might do in talk therapy, as more ‘bottom up’ experiencing. Meeting sensation as it arises and tending to it with presence and care. Over time, this helps you reconnect to your body’s wisdom and expand your capacity to meet life as it moves, as well as weaving you into deeper relationship with community and the living world.

The short answer is that breathwork is a practice where we bring attention and intention to our breath.
It’s a powerful self-healing practice that allows for deep self-exploration and transformation.
Breathwork brings you into your body, helps you to release stuck energy and suppressed emotions, and shift out of old ways of being that no longer allow you to thrive.
Cultures around the world have used the breath as a way to heal and connect - physically, emotionally, and energetically - for millennia. There are many different lineages and practices. Personally, I work with the 3-Part Breath, Conscious Connected Breath, and with Pranayama techniques from the yogic tradition.

I mean the work of intentionally unlearning the urgency of capitalism that lives in your body.
I mean reclaiming your capacity to do nothing without feeling guilty about it.
I mean shaking free of the grind of toxic productivity so that you can honour your body’s needs.
I mean recovering your nervous system from burnout and interrogating the things that got you to that level of exhaustion in the first place. What that looks like on a practical level is a bunch of practices that encourage rest, including restorative yoga, yoga nidra, restful breathwork, and somatic practices that help you cultivate stability in your nervous system.

This work can be healing, and it can bring new facets of growth and awareness into your therapy sessions, but it’s not therapy. I’m not a therapist.
What I am, however, is someone who is can help you find your way back to yourself. There are many paths to growth and healing. Often just talking about our problems isn’t enough, you need to bring your body into the conversation.

Nope! However my lens on embodiment is queer af, trans-inclusive, and intersectionally feminist, so I do generally work with women, non-binary folks, and trans babes of all genders.
I take great care to hold spaces that center and celebrate marginalised identities.

We carry a lot of history in our bodies, whether it’s trauma, body image issues, gender dysphoria, chronic pain, addiction. Being in relationship with your body can be complex and fraught, full of places that feel unsafe, shut down, or antagonistic.
Which is why my work is trauma-informed and body positive.
Agency and body autonomy are a given. This space is yours and we go at a pace that feels safe to you.
You are worthy of care and connection no matter what your body has held you through. There isn’t a different set of rules for you, no matter how much you might feel different, isolated, broken, or in need of fixing.

All my One-to-One sessions are offered on a sliding scale. This is one way I’m committed to making healing work more accessible in late-stage capitalism, especially because oppression and violence shape who has access to wealth.
If the lower end of the scale is still out of reach, I offer two Pay-What-You-Can sessions each month.
Please contact me to check availability. If not, I'll add you to the waiting list for next month. Priority will go to BIPOC and Trans folks.

Don't worry, we'll figure it out. I work with people in lots of different time zones, and we’re always able to find a way to meet.

Amazing, I’m here for it. Book in a curiosity call and I’ll see if I can give you an answer!
